FAQ
We’ve answered some of our most commonly asked questions below to help you with sizing, fit, comfort, and care. If you need more support, you’re always welcome to get in touch.
How should a bralette fit?
A bralette should sit snugly around your ribcage without riding up at the back. The cups should lie smoothly against the bust without gaping, cutting in, or feeling restrictive. A comfortable, supportive fit should feel secure while still allowing you to move easily.

How do I measure my bra size at home?
You can measure your bra size at home using a soft measuring tape. First measure snugly around your ribcage directly under the bust to find your band size. Then measure around the fullest part of your bust without pulling the tape too tight. These two measurements will help you find your correct size using our sizing chart.
For a full step-by-step guide, you can visit our article How to Measure Your Bra Size Correctly.
Why do my bra cups gap?
Bra cups can gap for several reasons. This often happens when the cup size is too large, the band is too loose, or the shape of the cup doesn’t match the natural shape of the breast. A well-fitting bra or bralette should lie smoothly against the bust without empty space or lifting away from the body.
If you're unsure about your fit, our sizing guide can help you find your best size.
How tight should a bra band be?
Your bra band should feel snug and secure around your ribcage without digging into the skin or feeling restrictive. The band provides most of the support in a bra, so it should sit level around your body and not ride up at the back. You should be able to comfortably fit two fingers under the band.
If your band rides up your back, it usually means the band size is too loose.
What size bralette should I choose?
The best way to choose your bralette size is by using your underbust and bust measurements together with our sizing chart. Bralettes are designed to be comfortable and flexible, but choosing the correct size will ensure the band sits securely and the cups lie smoothly against the bust.
How do I wash lace lingerie properly?
Lace lingerie should be washed gently to preserve its softness and shape. We recommend hand washing your pieces in cool water with a mild detergent and laying them flat to dry. Avoid tumble drying, as heat can damage delicate fabrics and elastics.

What is your returns and exchanges policy?
If your bra or bralette doesn’t fit quite right, we’re happy to offer an exchange within 7 days of receiving your order. Due to the intimate nature of lingerie, we’re unable to accept returns or exchanges on knickers or teddies for hygiene reasons.
You can read our full returns and exchanges policy in The Gentle Guide.

A Gentle Revolution in Lace and Comfort
We believe in wearing beautiful things for you. In choosing pieces that spark joy, feel soft on the skin, and remind you that confidence can start from the inside out. Sea Lemon was created with the dream of making women feel held, seen, and celebrated in their own skin — every curve, every edge, every day.
As the founder, I started this brand after years of wearing intimates that never felt quite right — too structured, too padded, too much about someone else’s idea of beauty. I wanted something softer. Lingerie that felt effortless and empowering. Sea Lemon pieces are delicate, breathable, and thoughtfully handmade — designed to bring comfort, confidence, and a quiet kind of magic to your everyday.

Consciously Created, Always.
Every Sea Lemon piece is handmade with intention — sewn, trimmed, and packaged in our studio with care and respect for both the body and the planet. We work in small, made-to-order batches, which means we only create what’s needed. This slow approach to production allows us to minimize waste and stay true to what matters: quality, integrity, and a gentler environmental footprint.
Many of our trims — like straps, scalloped elastics, and closures — are hand-dyed by a female-run business that uses water-saving methods and sustainable dye practices. Our cotton thread is sourced locally from a South African supplier whose factory runs on renewable energy. Even our care labels are made by a small, female-owned business in the North West province. And because we haven’t yet found a fully sustainable off-cut recycling partner, we’re holding onto every scrap until we do — because every choice counts.
Being an ethical brand isn’t just a feature. It’s the foundation.
